FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
ArtPalmBeach returns to Palm Beach on Jan. 15-19, 2010
Palm Beach, FL — The 13th edition of ArtPalmBeach, a modern and contemporary art fair formerly named PalmBeach3, will open on January 15-19, 2010 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. The fair will offer collectors, art enthusiasts, and museum professionals an exclusive selection of over 75 international dealers representing both 20th & 21st century artworks from over 1,500 artists. ArtPalmBeach also inaugurates a month-long county supported crossover cultural event that includes over 27 county-wide arts cultural institutions, gallery openings and three internationally renowned fine art fairs.
IFAE fair principals, David and Lee Ann Lester (who founded the fair in 1998 and resumed ownership in January 2009) announce the return of ArtPalmBeach (APB). For over two decades, David and Lee Ann Lester have organized more than 40 international fine art and contemporary fairs-- including American International Fine Art Fair, the only fine art fair in America accorded 5 stars by The Art Newspaper, and have recently added the 37-year-old fine art and antiques fair, London International Fine Art Fine at Olympia to their organization.
On January 14th (6 -7:30 pm) the private preview party honors the benefactors of the Society of Four Arts and the Young Collectors of the Norton Museum. The second-half of the preview party, The Collectors Invitational (7:30 - 10 pm), will celebrate the fair’s theme: “Going Global,” which explores the upcoming art scenes from Asia and Eastern Europe, Middle East to South America.
ArtPalmBeach 2010 will present “Living with Sculpture,” featuring 30 major international artists in the Outdoor Sculpture garden on the Convention Center Plaza located near the Okeechobee Blvd. entrance. One notable highlight in the garden includes 12 monumental sculptural works by Tony Cragg, exhibited by Galerie Terminus, from Munich. The work will be on exhibit through February 7.
The floor plan of APB has been completely redesigned by a team of urban architects, and the new composition will reflect the fair’s theme: “Going Global.” APB translates this theme through pavilions featuring international galleries, interactive sections, project rooms, a video lounge, and specialty curated exhibitions at the fair. Pavillion highlights include “The Young Gallerists,” which features galleries less than five years in operation, and “Going Dutch,” featuring Contemporary Art + Design from the Netherlands. Other Specialty Sections at APB will be Works on Paper and Photography exhibitions, plus a Video Lounge and Art Internet Café that provides a space where fair attendees can connect digitally to the world.
Fair hours: 11-7 daily.
